HOW IS IONM USEFUL?

(IONM) Intraoperative Neurological Monitoring can be helpful to identify neural structures that have been distorted by degenerative disease, congenital anomalies, revision surgery, tumor and/or inflammatory processes that may obscure normal anatomic relationships and surgical landmarks.

(IONM) Intraoperative Neurological Monitoring can detect neural structure integrity& changes in basic function to provide the benefit of early warning of altered neurological functions. With immediate intervention, the surgeon would avoid causing or reverse the potential for injury.
